2016 Walk Sunday 20th March

Charities for 2016 Walk

The three main charities and causes for the 2016 walk are:

Seaton Scouts

West Coast Down’s Syndrome Support Group

Keswick Mountain Rescue (Registered Charity No: 509860)

Down the other side - Honister Pass

Welcome to the Workington to Keswick Charity Walk website. We look forward to seeing familiar and new faces on the walk this year.

The Thirty Ninth Annual Workington to Keswick Charity Walk will take place on Sunday, 20th March, 2016. Walkers will once again gather at the Royal British Legion Club Workington early in the morning before setting of on the long trek covering over 30 miles to Keswick. They will set off in small or large groups with their start time recorded so everyone will get a time for completing the walk. Entries are invited from anyone over the age of 16. Both walkers and joggers are welcome but the Organisers would like to emphasise that the event is not a race and although each individual's total time is noted, the main aim is to complete the course.

Our aim is to raise money for local West Cumbrian charities and to further interest in walking. Tremendous interest has been shown in the walk since its inauguration 39 years ago and in that time nearly 8000 people have taken part and thousands of pounds raised for local charities and good causes.
