The three main charities and causes for the 2015 walk:
Bendrigg Trust (Charitable Trust)
North Cumbria Prostate Cancer Support Group
Maryport Inshore Rescue (Charity No: 1113807)
Another year and another walk completed by many a happy smiling walker. The weather
was indeed kind to us this year with almost perfect walking conditions and as the
morning haze cleared some spectacular views along the route.
The Thirty Eighth Annual Workington to Keswick Charity Walk took place on Sunday,
22nd March 2015. Walkers started queuing and chomping at the bit to get started well
before 7:30am when the registration and check-in opened at the Royal British Legion
in Workington. Luckily it was a relatively warm and dry morning. The majority of
walkers were on there way by 7:45 heading out of Workington on a crisp hazy morning
towards Keswick. Although not a race there were some very swift times this year with
Grant Johnson finishing in 3:18, and Leanne Jackson breaking the 5 hour barrier flying
into Keswick looking fresh as a daisy, finishing in a time of 4:59.
Hopefully the money raised through fundraising for this years good causes will mirror
the exceptional efforts made by all involved. You can get your sponsorship money
to us in a number of ways as outlined on the Fundraising page.

We would like to give special thanks to Ken Needham who has raised over £10,0000
for the various charities and good causes over his many walks. We would also like
to thank Jean Rafferty for all her hard and diligent work since the inaugural walk
way back in 1977 who has stepped down from the committee: she will be missed.
